Helix

What is the Helix and how does it work?

The Helix is a CO2 laser which works by removing the thin outer layer of the skin while heating the underlying skin. This process stimulates the growth of new collagen fibers. As the skin continues to heal it will appear clearer, smoother, and tighter.

Who is a good candidate for Helix?

Anyone in good health that may have sun damage or dark spots, acne scars, fine lines, and textural issues.

How many treatments will I need?

The amount of treatments vary from person to person, depending on the goals you and your provider are looking to reach. 1-3 treatments is typical, but you may need more to achieve your desired result. If you are interested in the Helix and would like to speak with a provider, we recommend setting up a consultation prior to treatment. Here at Indie we provide free consultations so we can recommend the best treatment plan for you!

How much downtime will I have?

The Helix is very customizable, so downtime is dependent on the intensity of the treatment. Downtime for a typical CoolPeel is an average of 1-4 days, while downtime for Deka can be 7-10 days.

What are common side effects?

The most common side effects with a CO2 laser treatment are swelling, redness, itchiness, and skin flaking. These side effects tend to resolve within a few days without medical intervention. Though if you are experiencing side effects after your treatment, it's always recommended to reach out to your provider for assistance!
